At Solo Service Group, we are dedicated to sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of our operations. In honour of World Refill Day 2024, we're excited to share how our use of refillable products is making a significant difference in reducing waste and emissions.
Zero Plastic Waste with Soluble Sachets
One of our key initiatives has been the implementation of zero plastic waste soluble sachets from Jangro Enviro. Over the past 12 months, this initiative has reduced plastic waste by over 22 tonnes across our contracts. These sachets dissolve completely, leaving no plastic waste behind, making them a crucial part of our sustainability strategy.
Impact on Emissions and Waste Reduction
The benefits of using Jangro Enviro sachets extend beyond just reducing plastic waste. By cutting down on the plastic packaging purchased by 22 tonnes, we have also significantly reduced our scope 3 emissions. This reduction in plastic use is equivalent to a decrease of over 71 tonnes of CO2e emissions within Scope 3 Category 1 alone. These figures highlight the substantial positive impact of our efforts on the environment.
Innovative Use of Robert Scott Eco Refill Mop Heads
In addition to our use of soluble sachets, we have also started implementing Robert Scott eco refill mop heads across two of our newest contracts. These mop heads feature a reusable plastic socket and are refilled with recycled materials once the mop head reaches the end of its life. This innovation further reduces plastic waste generation and aligns with our commitment to sustainable practices.
